Greetings! My name is Agastya Rasayana and I am created to strengthen the respiratory system, support digestion and promote overall rejuvenation of the body. I am primarily used for cough, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, cold, allergic rhinitis and sinusitis. I am also useful for hiccups, pulmonary tuberculosis, loss of appetite, irritable bowel syndrome, malabsorption, hemorrhoids, premature graying of hair, wrinkles, intermittent fever and general weakness of the body.
I improve the strength of the respiratory system and help with acute and chronic respiratory disorders, including all types of asthma and tuberculosis.
I strengthen immunity, so I am used not only for cough and cold, but also for chronic fever, gulma, grahani and even heart ailments.
I help relax spasms of the respiratory tract, remove phlegm from the airways and ease breathing thanks to my composition of Dashamula, Bala, Atmagupta and other herbs.
I support digestion, reduce loss of appetite and help with irritable bowel syndrome and hemorrhoids.
I am considered a Rasayana (rejuvenating remedy) — I help slow down graying of hair and the appearance of wrinkles, improve complexion, longevity and strength.
I am safe for long-term use compared to other Ayurvedic remedies for asthma and other respiratory disorders.
My base form is lehya (avaleha), that is, a thick medicinal jam similar to preserve.
My main benefits
- Respiratory tonic that reduces the frequency and severity of asthma attacks
- Thins thick phlegm, facilitates its expectoration
- Supports immunity and resistance to infections
- Soothes digestion, improves appetite
- Gently laxative thanks to Haritaki, supports bowel cleansing

My effect on doshas
I pacify Vata and Kapha doshas. At the same time, I may slightly increase Pitta dosha, so people with pronounced Pitta predominance should use me cautiously, under the supervision of an Ayurvedic doctor.
My composition
- Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) ~35%
- Guda / jaggery (Jaggery) ~15%
- Madhu / honey (Honey) ~10%
- Ghee / clarified butter (Ghee) ~10%
- Tila tailam / sesame oil (Sesame oil) ~10%
- Pippali churna / long pepper powder (Piper longum) ~10%
- Dashamula and other herbs in decoction form (Bilva, Shyonaka, Gambhari, Patala, Ganikarika, Shalaparni, Prishniparni, Brihati, Kantakari, Gokshura, Atmagupta, Shankhapushpi, Shati, Bala, Hastipippali, Apamarga, Chitraka, Bharangi, Pushkaramoola, Yava) ~10%
Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) is my main component; it nourishes tissues, gently laxes and supports healthy digestion.
Jaggery acts as a binding base and sweetener, and also helps digest the remaining components.
Honey is added at the end of preparation into the cooled mixture; it helps balance Kapha dosha and serves as a natural preservative.
Ghee and sesame oil are nourishing bases that soften the dryness characteristic of Vata dosha and improve absorption of active substances.
Pippali powder warms and helps clear the airways of stagnant phlegm.
The Dashamula group of herbs together with Bala, Atmagupta, Shati, Apamarga, Chitraka, Bharangi and Pushkaramoola relieve inflammation, relax bronchial spasms and ease breathing.
Dosage:
I am usually taken 1–2 teaspoons (approximately 5–10 g), 1–2 times a day, before or after meals. For children — 1 teaspoon 1–2 times a day, if needed with a small amount of honey if they dislike the taste.
The exact dosage is prescribed by an Ayurvedic doctor or health specialist.
The recommended dosage of a specific manufacturer's product is indicated on the package label.
